Shared coordinates

An agreed coordinate system used by every model on a project, so they line up when federated.
Updated 5 November 2026Draft · awaiting review

Shared coordinates are a single, agreed coordinate system that every discipline model uses, usually derived from the site survey. Each model records how its internal coordinates relate to it.

When every team applies the same shared coordinates, models federate in the right place without manual moves. The values and the method are recorded in the BEP or a georeferencing sheet.
