Your data stays with you
Your project data stays in your browser
Everything you enter in the tools — project details, logos, disciplines, clash matrices, meetings, issue logs, LOD matrices — is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. It is never sent to BIMpedia or anyone else. Excel and PDF files are generated in your browser too.
This also means that clearing your browser data deletes your projects. Use Export project (.json) on the project profile page to keep a backup.
Learning progress and notes
Lesson progress, quiz results, flashcard progress and your notes are stored in your browser too.
If you’re logged in to the forum, they are also saved to your forum account, so you find them on another computer or phone. Only you can see them. Project data from the tools is never included. Log out of the forum and the site goes back to keeping everything in this browser only; deleting your forum account deletes the saved progress too.
What we do not do
- No separate account for this site: the forum account is the only one, and it’s optional.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics service.
- No selling or sharing of data — we don’t have your data.
Visit counter
Each page shows how many times it has been visited. To count, your browser tells our server the page address, once per visit. The server adds one to that page’s number and keeps nothing else: no IP address, no cookie, no browser details, no time stamp. The numbers are the same for everyone and can’t be traced back to anyone.
The forum
Comment sections show replies from the public BIMpedia forum. When a page loads them, your browser contacts the forum directly. Posting on the forum requires a forum account, which is covered by the forum’s own terms.
Hosting
Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations.
