Handover

Transferring the completed works and their information from the delivery team to the client and operator.
Updated 5 November 2026Draft · awaiting review

Handover is the transfer of the finished asset and its information to the client. Information handover includes record models and drawings, asset data (often COBie), O&M information, certificates and the health and safety file.

Under ISO 19650, handover is the final information model delivery, checked against the asset information requirements. It works best when asset data has been collected and checked at earlier milestones.
